EAT

If you’re craving Tex-Mex, you’ve come to the right place. Feast on enchiladas and fajitas at Joe T. Garcia’s, the celebrated Tex-Mex restaurant family-owned since its founding in 1935. It is a Fort Worth institution with beautiful patios and lovely interiors that bring a special ambience to your meal.

Joe T.’s sister restaurant, Esperanza’s Restaurant and Bakery, has more of a casual, but no less delicious, vibe. Their breakfast is a must-try, and their food continues the tradition of using fresh ingredients that have made it a staple in the Fort Worth dining scene.

Across the street from the Fort Worth Stockyards sign is Los Vaqueros Restaurant, which prepares comforting and delicious Tex-Mex cuisine in a fun and inviting space.

Housed in a historic red brick building is La Playa Maya, the Tex-Mex restaurant that serves great food and drinks with friendly service. They’ve been in business for more than thirty years, and now have four locations in the area to try their quality dishes and pitchers of margaritas.

Before you wander through the area, stop off at Casa Rita’s. The hot pink drive-through offers variations of margaritas and micheladas, to go! If you want something cold to drink sans alcohol, head to Casa Azul Coffee for a matcha-colada or iced churro latte.
