The words “vegan” and “Cowtown” may not naturally go together in your mind, but now that Fort Worth is an official Blue Zones ® city, you’ll find a vegetarian or vegan option on most menus. Here are 10 restaurants that serve primarily vegan meals and snacks.

Spiral Diner and Bakery

The granddaddy of them all. Spiral Diner has been serving the Near Southside neighborhood for over 10 years and is going strong. The restaurant and bakery serves up 100% plant-based takes on burgers, sandwiches, cakes and cookies, and more. You won't leave hungry!

Boulevard of Greens

Whether you want a raw salad in a bottle, a juice cleanse, a more substantial bowl filled with acai and goji berries, or soup and avocado toast, all of the products here are vegan and preservative-free.

Clean Juice

Although not everything on the menu is vegan, the majority of smoothies, bowls and sandwiches have no animal products or can be modified to eliminate animal products like cheese or honey.

Down To Earth Vegan Kitchen

Check out the food truck, nicknamed Doña Nopalitos. From elotes and tacos to tortas and a sweet potato and bean bowl, the menu is entirely vegan and house-made. Even the “cocotija” cheese (a riff on the crumbly cotija Mexican cheese) is dairy-free.

HG Sply Co.

Most of the menu is vegan-friendly, and any dish can be prepared dairy-free. HGSply proffers interesting twists on hearty plant-based dishes (like vegan chips and queso, quinoa “meatballs” and a variety of bowls) that will keep you full and happy.

Juice Junkies

In addition to their trademarked cold-pressed juices, there’s a whole vegan menu at Juice Junkies, including “meatloof,” billed as better than tuna salad, and “Kelp, I Need Somebody” – a Thai-inspired grain-free noodle dish.

Mariachi’s Dine In

Mariachi’s offers five tacos featuring vegan substitutes for meat (including vegan asada, pastor and, of course, a veggie taco for the purist). Even better, there’s a dine-in menu featuring breakfast burritos, tortas, and burgers –– all vegan and all tasty.

Unrefined Bakery

It’s hard to get a vegan, gluten-free cookie to taste like, well, a cookie. But at Unrefined Bakery, there’s a long list of vegan cookies, cakes, breads and sandwiches, along with paleo and keto items as well!  All items on the shelves are preservative-free, and most are dairy- and soy-free. The unbuttercream frosting is absolutely amazing!

Rollin’ & Bowlin’

Although they’re no longer located in the Food Hall at Crockett Row, the start-up from TCU students Sophia Karbowski and Austin Patry still serves vegan bowls and smoothies on the TCU campus. Plans for a brick-and-mortar store near University Drive are in the works.

Zonk Burger

You won’t find your average soy or black bean patty at this food truck. Zonk Burger’s offerings are all vegan, and the standard burger is a combo of ground chickpeas and mushrooms (think falafel with different seasonings). Gluten-, soy- and nut-free options are also available.

Honorable mention goes to Snap Kitchen., where your take-out or delivery meals can be customized to be vegan (select from the vegetarian or Whole 30 choices), and Righteous Foods, which has a substantial selection of vegan-friendly menu items.
