Vincent Neil EmersonVincent Neil Emerson
Vincent Neil Emerson is a torchbearer of the Texas songwriter tradition. He channels the straightforward truth-telling and resonance of his songwriting heroes in Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, and Steve Earle into something fresh and distinctly his own. Where his 2019 debut Fried Chicken and Evil Women proved that he is one of the most reverent students of country and Western musical traditions, his follow-up LP, the masterful Rodney Crowell-produced Vincent Neil Emerson, which is out June 25 via La Honda Records/Thirty Tigers, is a brave step forward that solidifies his place as one of music's most compelling and emotionally clarifying storytellers. His songs are cathartic and bluntly honest, never mincing words or dancing around uncomfortable truths.

Squeezebox BanditsSqueezebox Bandits
The Squeezebox Bandits sound a whole lot like Texas. Their mix of Tejano and C&W reflects their upbringing in Fort Worth. "Tex-Mex music is influenced by traditional Mexican and American music, just like the food," according to frontman Abel Casillas. "It’s kind of like Spanglish. Tex-Mex and Tejano music are just about the same thing." The band recently signed with State Fair Records based out of Dallas to produce their third album set to be released in late 2021 or early 2022.

Summer DeanSummer Dean
Summer Dean makes music rooted in Telecaster twang, southern storytelling, and the rugged resilience of the American West, it’s the sound of a lifelong Texan whose songs evoke her tough, independent spirit. Her full-length debut album Bad Romantic struts out of the speakers, but also finds moments of tenderness and vulnerability. The album stakes a claim for Dean in the same genre that first captivated her attention as a girl in rural Texas. Her grandfather raised cattle and her father worked in land conservation. Dean developed a connection not only to the soil she stood on, but also to the music that sound tracked her small-town experience, steadily building the foundation for the traditionally minded sound that would fill her songs.

Guthrie KennardGuthrie Kennard
The only thing Guthrie Kennard ever started early was his music career. By the age of 14, he was playing with friend and fellow musician Joe Russell in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia. He left home to travel to Atlanta, Georgia, where Joe was signed with the Bill Lowery Agency, whose roster included artists such as Billy Joe Royal, Classics IV, and Joe South. In Atlanta, Guthrie met people who were successful doing what they loved to do; his path was chosen. Roots Music Report wrote that “Guthrie Kennard is one bad ass song writer and this is no mediocre compliment. This man can write a song that is as true as an angel on the witness stand.” Guthrie is releasing his new album, Riverside on September 23 produced and mastered in Fort Worth by Ryan Tharp.
