The Fort Worth Zoo

If there’s one stop that’s guaranteed to be a hit, it’s the Fort Worth Zoo. Home to more than 500 species, this award-winning zoo features habitats from around the world. Kids especially love the giraffe feeding station, the splash park (seasonal), and the Texas Wild exhibit. There’s even a petting yard and a miniature train ride.

At the Fort Worth Stockyards, the Western way of life is alive and well. The Stockyards National Historic District is lined with historic buildings, shops, restaurants, and saloons. See real cowhands in action during cattle drives, explore the Cattle Pen Maze, and catch a live Fort Worth rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum. And over at Log Cabin Village, families can step into 1800s Texas, complete with historic cabins, costumed interpreters, candle-making, and even old-school butter churning. If exploring, imagining, and learning are your thing, Fort Worth has plenty of spots that fit the bill. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is packed with interactive exhibits where kids can dig for fossils and explore distant galaxies!

Play Street Museum is great for younger kids who want to pretend, build, and create.  Keep the good times rolling with a family-friendly musical at Casa Mañana, the largest Broadway (and kids’ theatre) producer in the metro area, or check out upcoming Fort Worth concerts happening across the city.

If you’re in the mood for something more low-key, head to Cowtown Bowling Palace and see who can rack up the most strikes. Over at Andretti Indoor Karting and Games, you’ll find racing simulators, Superkarts, laser tag and arcade games.
